Jesus Christ is Lord of All

I heard a statement from a Bible teacher on television in regard to discerning the validity of supposed tenets of faith and conduct: “It doesn’t matter what else you get right, if you don’t get who Jesus is, right, you will be all wrong.

That is preeminently true, we should always question any “teaching” with this in mind. Read the book of Colossians and notice how prominently and repeatedly the exalted person of Christ is revealed. Here is just a sampling:

“In whom (Christ) we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins.”

Colossians 1:14

“In whom (Christ) are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.”

Colossians 2:3

“For in him (Christ) dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily. And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power.”

Colossians 2:9-10

Notice also at His baptism in the Jordan River:

“And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.”

Matthew 3:17

And on the Mount of Transfiguration:

“While he yet spake, …a bright cloud overshadowed them: and behold a voice out of the cloud, which said, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear ye him.”

Matthew 17:5

And Peter’s recounting of this:

“For he received from God the Father honour and glory, when there came such a voice to him from the excellent glory, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.”

2 Peter 1:17

And of Jesus’ own final Word on the matter:

“I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last.”

Revelation 22:13
