When? Then!

If then, you have been raised with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is,
seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are
on earth. For you have died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. When Christ who is your life appears, then you also will appear with him in glory.
Colossians 3:1-4
Perspective is essential, understanding where we are at, what to expect and when. For instance, a child may be full heir to a multi-million dollar fortune, but even while being supported by the fortune, does not “receive” the “full glory” of it, until the age requirements are met.
So, as to perspective concerning status, where we are and where we shall be, in our calling and destiny as a believer in Christ, it is very important that we consciously get this right. The whole book of Colossians is context. Here are some pointers from there:
1. We have a new life — it is in Christ.
2. The new life is hidden in Christ, as His glory was unrecognized by the people of the world — don’t expect the world to accept you more than it accepted Him.
3. Just as Jesus left “glory” when He came here, our “glory” time is not here but there. The hymn “I am on the Battlefield for My Lord” catches the realization. Also the one that says, “O that will be glory for me”. “I shall be satisfied when I awake with His likeness.” –Psalm 17:15
4. We are promised that if we suffer with Jesus (now) we also shall be glorified with Him (then – glory) — (Romans 8:17).
