WELCOME

TERRACE HEIGHTS ASSEMBLY OF GOD
IN THIS PLACE
ARE YOU IN A PLACE OF DISCOURAGEMENT?
Jacob probably didn’t expect to meet God out in the middle of nowhere, fleeing for his life after double-crossing his brother. But there God revealed Himself and unfolded wonderful plans for the future! Then Jacob declared, “Surely the Lord is in THIS PLACE, and I knew it not.”

ARE YOU IN A PLACE OF CURIOSITY?
Zacchaeus “wanted to see who Jesus was.” So he climbed a tree for a better view. Jesus singled him out and followed him home. There Jesus told him, “Today salvation has come to THIS HOUSE.”

ARE YOU IN A PLACE OF EMPTINESS?
Solomon built a house and invited God to move in. The One whom even the heavens cannot contain filled the temple with His glory. He said, “I have heard your prayer and have chosen THIS PLACE for myself.”

ARE YOU IN A READY-FOR-MORE PLACE?
The early followers of Jesus had received a promise of something more. “When the day of Pentecost came, they were all together in one place. Suddenly a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven and filled the whole HOUSE where they were sitting.

WHEREVER YOU ARE SITTING SPIRITUALLY, WE WELCOME YOU TO GATHER WITH US.
WE BELIEVE GOD MEETS US WHERE WE ARE.

THIS PLACE could be a place where you encounter God
in a meaningful way!

WEEKLY DEVOTIONAL:

What About That Unleavened Bread?

Therefore let us keep the Festival, not with the old bread leavened with malice and wickedness,
but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.
1 Corinthians 5:8

This has much to do with our motivation and hidden agenda. Sincerity and truth are key words. Without space here to give the background of the Old Testament Feast of Unleavened Bread, let’s just get to the message of the New Testament being brought out here.

Hidden under the cover of serving God may be heart issues that negate the service, making it something other than it seems to be. The Corinthians evidently were boasting about the condition of the church, while being too proud to “disrupt” that image by dealing with open sin, condoning it in membership. It had become “their” church, with their agenda. Here are the two qualities lacking that the Holy Spirit confronted them (and us) with:

1. Sincerity  – the life must be lived before God, given to God- “thy Kingdom come, thy will be done”. (The word translated “sincere” literally-  “without wax”). Merchants selling expensive pottery might heavily wax it to cover imperfections.

2. Truth – must be what God says, or says about it. Doesn’t “shift” to fit circumstances or be “convenient”.

Wouldn’t it be wonderful in the 2020 election politics, if all politicians and their speech writers served the “unleavened bread of sincerity and truth”? But we must not be surprised if the world system that “lies (no pun intended) in the power of the evil one” (1 John 5:19), acts true to its master. Even more important for all believers is that we eat and serve the “unleavened bread” of our Master.
