WELCOME

TERRACE HEIGHTS ASSEMBLY OF GOD
IN THIS PLACE
ARE YOU IN A PLACE OF DISCOURAGEMENT?
Jacob probably didn’t expect to meet God out in the middle of nowhere, fleeing for his life after double-crossing his brother. But there God revealed Himself and unfolded wonderful plans for the future! Then Jacob declared, “Surely the Lord is in THIS PLACE, and I knew it not.”

ARE YOU IN A PLACE OF CURIOSITY?
Zacchaeus “wanted to see who Jesus was.” So he climbed a tree for a better view. Jesus singled him out and followed him home. There Jesus told him, “Today salvation has come to THIS HOUSE.”

ARE YOU IN A PLACE OF EMPTINESS?
Solomon built a house and invited God to move in. The One whom even the heavens cannot contain filled the temple with His glory. He said, “I have heard your prayer and have chosen THIS PLACE for myself.”

ARE YOU IN A READY-FOR-MORE PLACE?
The early followers of Jesus had received a promise of something more. “When the day of Pentecost came, they were all together in one place. Suddenly a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven and filled the whole HOUSE where they were sitting.

WHAT WE’RE TALKIN’ ABOUT:
THIS WEEK’S MESSAGE:

People have many ideas about the afterlife, including Hell. What does the Bible say?
WEEKLY PRAYER FOCUS:

Meeting this week with the County regarding the addition of two tiny homes and expansion of the activity building to include bathroom and kitchen areas

WEEKLY DEVOTIONAL:

In a Moment

Think of the inevitable, rapid transition moments when everything changes–forever! In the Old Testament there are at least ten places where God has done a thing “suddenly” or declares that He will do so. The last one is in Malachi chapter 3, verse 1:

Behold, I will send my messenger, and he shall prepare the way before me:
and the Lord, whom ye seek, shall suddenly come to his temple.

The Jewish nation was not ready for this momentous, forever altering appearance of the Lord Jesus as Messiah–Savior. Hearts were not prepared, not repentant, so, God sent “a man named John” to preach repentance. Jesus was to appear suddenly as the culmination of all that God had been leading to in Jewish history. He was saying, “This is it, at this point everything predicted was to appear in the person of the predicted One, the “Lamb of God”.

At this moment all imperfect lambs, who could not actually remove sins, were abolished forever. This true “Lamb of God” would “take away the sins of the world”. Instantly all other sacrifices, which were only types and shadows of the real, were laid aside. There was nothing gradual about this. The gradual had been over the centuries of patient and careful laws and rituals pointing to the “Coming One”.

Rejected, crucified, risen from the dead and ascended to the right hand of God, this “Lamb of God” who now holds also the title, “Lion of the Tribe of Judah” is on schedule to return in bodily, physical form to Planet Earth as King of Kings and Lord of Lords. Everything will change in that moment.

In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound,
and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
1 Corinthians 15:52

What a moment, for the believer, forever with the Lord, what a moment for the unbeliever, as further Scripture reveals, forever banished from the Lord under eternal judgement!
